RIVERQUEST STUDENT AWARDS

Awardees will be students who demonstrate interest in science and environmental stewardship and meet additional criteria in three different grade levels. Two awards will be presented per grade. Each award will include, among other items, a small cash prize. Teachers interested in nominating a student can click here for more information.

Elementary School: Light of the Mon Award

This award is presented to a student in grades 3, 4, or 5 who
  • Demonstrates academic excellence OR academic progress in science
  • Demonstrates environmental stewardship through projects, attitudes, and/or actions in the community

Middle School: Allegheny Ally Award

This award is presented to a student in grades 6, 7, or 8 who
  • Demonstrates academic excellence OR academic progress in science
  • Demonstrates environmental stewardship through studies, projects, and/or actions in the community
  • Demonstrates interest in physical and life sciences through participation in extra-curricular or project based science activities

High School: Ohio River Navigator Award

This award is presented to a student in grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 who
  • Demonstrates academic excellence OR academic progress in science
  • Demonstrates environmental stewardship through studies, projects, and/or actions in the community
  • Demonstrates academic interest and pursues coursework in environmental science, ecology, and related areas
  • Demonstrates interest in pursuing a field of study in or related to the sciences

TEACHER AWARDS

Three school teachers will be chosen by the RiverQuest education department to be honored based on their ongoing committment toward hands-on science education.
