RiverQuest will offer a Bald Eagle Tour on Saturday, May 31, 2014, 4:30 - 6:30pm:
Passengers will board Explorer at the RiverQuest dock (next to the Science Center's Submarine) for a two hour eagle-spotting excursion. The vessel will sail from the North Shore to Hays, just downstream from the Glenwood Bridge, where Pittsburgh's famous on-camera pair of raptors are nesting for a second year.
After an absence of more than 150 years, the eagle's return to the region is an indicator that water quality and fish populations have rebounded. The vessel will depart from and return to the RiverQuest dock near Carnegie Science Center.
The eaglets are growing up fast! Like any animal-spotting excursion, RiverQuest cannot guarantee an eagle sighting, but our luck has been good.
