Sailing with schools this fall

Thanks to continued support from the foundation community, RiverQuest
EXPLORER will sail this fall to serve schools with its flagship program, Environmental Science on the Three Rivers, as work continues on a potential partnership between RiverQuest and Rivers of Steel.

RiverQuest Update

RiverQuest and the Rivers of Steel Heritage Corporation continue with formal discussions regarding the possible formation of a strategic operational partnership that would have the capacity to enhance the missions of both organizations.

With the rivers as a key geographic and historical focus for discovery, both organizations engage the public to celebrate our region and to explore how it has evolved over time from economic, cultural, and environmental standpoints.

Family Saturday Sails: through October

Add a RiverQuest sail to your Saturday plans: 1-hour sails feature hands-on activities that give a whole new view of our living rivers. Special activities for early learners make this an opportunity for the whole family to enjoy. Sails continue through Saturday, October 25, 2014.

Schools, libraries host Energy Bridges

Since January, nearly 3,000 students have participated in the RiverQuest traveling program called Energy Bridges. Fall program registration is open now.

What is energy? How do different sources of energy compare? Which are cleaner, and which have the capacity to provide the energy we need to run our homes, vehicles, and businesses? Are there any sources that can serve as a “bridge” between fossil fuels and renewable energy sources? Energy Bridges uses demonstrations and activities to compare and contrast various energy sources to enhance energy literacy.

Energy Bridges is available to schools and libraries this fall. It is adapable for Grades 3-12. Call for pricing; limited scholarships are available. This RiverQuest outreach education program is sponsored by EQT Foundation.
