Last time we asked: What are those ornaments on the pillars at the ends of the 16th Street Bridge?

The Answer: Bronze armillary spheres!  Unless you know what that means, you'll probably want to click here for more information.

This month's Question: Explorer may be a newfangled modern and green vessel, but we still use traditional terms onboard like bow, stern, port, starboard, and of course, the all important "head."

What's the origin of the terms that refer to these different areas on a boat?

The answer next time!
